As with most directors, my journey into directing started with youth theatre. In 2008 I was appointed as Artistic Director of the ‘Jack Petchey Youth Theatre’ at Royal Central School of Speech & Drama. This project saw a company of ‘gifted & talented’ young creatives aged 14 - 18 years from ‘hard-to-reach’ communities, come together to create a youth company of actors devising plays that reflected the issues most present in their lives.
In 2011 I founded Arts Bridge Charity, an arts-based charity working with low-income families and children from BAME backgrounds. As Arts Bridge Founder / Director I’ve spearheaded the charity’s creative output from informal sharing to community performances.
Collaborations with Little Angel Theatre and Curve, Leicester saw me make my professional directorial debut in 2020.
